Raiders Star Tight End Cuts Ties With Agent
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller has been balling out for years now, and while other top tight ends are making upwards of $14 million per year, he, despite his elite production will only be making $6 million a year over the next two seasons. Waller and the Raiders have been in talks for an extension, to the point where a deal seemed imminent at points during this off-season, but right now, it doesn't look like a deal will get done.
While it's not known if this is a major reason why, but Waller has recently cut ties with Klutch Sports, the sports agency founded by LeBron James and friend Rich Paul, and after cutting ties with them recently, he is still in search of new representation.Darren Waller has reportedly cut ties with Klutch Sports and is seeking a new agent, per @ProFootballTalk pic.twitter.com/pz6akpRxJu

Thankfully for Waller, reports have recently emerged that after making the move, the Las Vegas Raiders and Waller have discussed a deal, likely for 3-years that would make him the highest paid tight end in the league, with an annual value of $16 million.
It's not clear if the change in representation is behind this, or if the deal has been a long time coming, but either way, Waller has been making moves in recent days, and it could be a big reason that he gets paid in the coming years. My understanding is #Raiders TE Darren Waller has had a deal in discussion that would make him the highest paid at his position in terms of at least the new money APY metric at $16M/yr, per league source. Waller is currently in the midst of changing representation.
