NFL Rumors: Saints Release Quarterback
The New Orleans Saints reportedly released back up quarterback Ian Book on Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Book, the former Notre Dame prospect, who was drafted by the Saints in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, started one game for his club in which he threw for 135 yards, completed 12 of 20 passes, and two interceptions.
Rapoport adds that Book is a practice squad target if he clears waivers and has potential interest from other clubs.
The Saints now currently only have one back up at signal-caller, Andy Dalton. They could look to add another at some point this season.
