NFL Rumors: Patriots Release Rookie RB

The New England Patriots have reportedly cut ties with their rookie running back Kevin Harris, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Harris was selected in the sixth round of this years NFL draft and to see a release this quickly is a surprise to say the least.

New England's offensive back depth chart includes the likes of: Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Ty Montgomery.

Harris, who was voted First-team All-SEC in 2020, rushed 21 times for 179 yards and caught four touchdowns as a true freshman for South Carolina. He was named Carolina's starter during his sophomore season and finished the year with 1,138 yards, 15 touchdowns, and caught 21 passes for 159 yards with one touchdown.
