Jets Veteran Defensive End Headed To Injury Reserve
The New York Jets are a young, up and coming team in the AFC East, and while they've still got plenty of growing to do at very important positions, this defensive front, headlined by Carl Lawson, Quinnen Williams and 2022 first-round pick Jermaine Johnson could be very, very good in 2022. A lot of that potential comes from these stars, but the depth up front is a huge reason for optimism among the Jets and their fans, but today, Coach Robert Saleh says that he believes veteran Vinny Curry may have to start the 2022 season on injured reserve.
While Saleh and this Jets team weren't expecting a 10+ sack huge year from Curry, he goes a long way in leading this young defensive front, and missing his presence may hurt more than many expect. The beginning of the 2022 season is going to be tough for a young, unestablished Jets team, and unless they can overcome the odds early, it may be another struggle of a year, and missing Curry may hurt the chances of avoiding that.Robert Saleh said Vinny Curry is likely headed for injured reserve. #Jets

Curry missed the entire 2021 season with the Jets due to injury, and while his presence around the team is still a positive, not having him on the field is going to hurt the Jets depth up front. They've still got Nathan Shephard, John Franklin-Myers and Michael Clemons to rotate in and out of the team, but with Curry out, another injury or two could signal disaster for this team.
