Jets Release Veteran Running Back

The New York Jets have a very talented young core, and that core includes two running backs in Michael Carter, drafted in round four of the 2021 NFL Draft, and the explosive Breece Hall, drafted in round two of the 2022 NFL Draft, and with those young studs leading the way, the Jets made a roster move today. That move was to release former 49ers running back Tevin Coleman, who served as the teams backup a year ago, but with the arrival of Hall, who's expected to take a majority of the carries by the end of the year, there just wasn't a need for him anymore.

Coleman added 356 yards on the ground for the Jets in 2021 without a Touchdown, but in limited time on the field, he was effective, as was used well as a veteran to lead this young group. He can still get it done on the field, so expect a contender to be looking into his signing, and even though the Jets are looking for a playoff spot in 2022, this is one position that they feel very set at.
