Jets Receiver Puts On A Showcase Days After Requesting A Trade

The New York Jets have a good young wide receiver group, and it's so tough to crack that former second round pick Denzel Mims recently requested a trade, and while the Jets haven't confirmed or denied whether they'd move him, it's clear that he wants to find a fresh start somewhere else. For teams out there interested in him, the cost may have potentially just gone up after the Jets pre-season finale, as Mims balled out in the Jets victory over their pre-season rival, the New York Giants.

Mims caught 6 balls for 91 yards and a fantastic Touchdown in the Jets pre-season finale, and while that's his first in a Jets uniform, he's got all the talent, but just hasn't been able to showcase it yet. After Sunday's game though, there should be plenty of teams lined up to make a move for him, especially teams lacking weapons like Carolina, Baltimore and Dallas, but the Jets would be wise to at least try to hold onto him.

Mims has told reporters he has no problem with the Jets, but with Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, Garrett Wilson and Braxton Berrios on this team, it makes sense that he'd want to part with the Jets, while keeping it on good terms. Ultimately, a trade is the most likely scenario over the past few days, and if a team is confident they can get this Mims on a weekly basis, we may be looking at a very good wide receiver in the future.
