Though he has yet to return to practice, the move indicates the team expects Leonard to be available at some point within the first four games of the regular season. He is recovering from offseason back surgery.Shaquille Leonard passed his physical today.

The Colts lifted him off the Physically Unable to Perform List, but it’s not clear when he’ll be back at practice. Keep in mind that physicals are subjective based on what the team is looking for.

Leonard exploded onto the scene in 2018, winning the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award and making his first of three All-Pro teams. A durable and explosive playmaker, Leonard led the league in forced fumbles last year and has 11 interceptions and 15 sacks over his four years with the Colts. He signed a five-year extension last offseason that made him the highest-paid inside linebacker in the league.
