Houston Texans Trade Defensive Tackle to Minnesota Vikings
Tuesday's roster cutdown deadline has spurred another trade. The Minnesota Vikings have acquired defensive tackle Ross Blacklock from the Houston Texans, NFL Insider Tom Pelissero reports:

The Texans will receive a sixth-round pick in exchange for Blacklock and a seventh-rounder. A 2020 second-round pick, Blacklock arrives to the Vikings following news of the team cutting defensive tackle Armon Watts, who notched 5.5 sacks last year on 670 snaps.

Blacklock failed to distinguish himself so far in his first two years with the Texans, but he's still a young enough player that his solid college play at TCU hasn't completely faded from memory. With the Vikings bringing in new head coach Kevin O'Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, it's likely the new regime in Minnesota saw Blacklock as a potential upgrade over Watts despite his comparatively modest production.
