Los Angeles Chargers CB Jackson Out 2-4 Weeks With Ankle Surgery

Los Angeles Chargers cornerback J.C Jackson underwent ankle surgery on Tuesday, the team announced today

Jackson's time of return is slated for two to four weeks, the club added. Two weeks of recovery would allow him to suit up for the season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders, but four weeks would mean he would miss potentially two games to start the year, against Las Vegas and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The procedure reportedly was "non-invasive" and was to fix an issue that Jackson was born with, sources told ESPN's Lindsey Thiry

Jackson, who was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted rookie in 2018, completed a career year last season. He started all 17 games where he caught eight interceptions, 23 pass deflections, and one touchdown.

The 26-year-old agreed to a 5-year, $82 million contract back in March and earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2021.

Jackson joins Derwin James Jr. in the Chargers secondary and is looking to be the missing link that will help push L.A into the postseason this year.
