Carolina Panthers Have Called The Jets About Young Wide Receiver
Yesterday, New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims requested a trade, and while he hasn't been the most productive player in his NFL career, he certainly has the size and skill needed to be a decent player in the league. Unfortunately, after the Jets drafted Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson in 2021 and 2022, as well as signing Corey Davis, it just seems that there's no spot for the 2020 second round draft pick in New York.
Plenty of people reported that there would be interest in Mims, and unsurprisingly, the NFL team where his former college coach currently serves as Head Coach makes the most sense, as it's now being reported that the Carolina Panthers are interested in the 6-3 207 pound wide receiver.
Panthers have called about Jets WR Denzel Mims, per league sources. Mims had a pair of 1,000-yard receiving seasons for Matt Rhule at Baylor.

GM Scott Fitterer has said Panthers will be in on every deal. So Mims interest not surprising, esp. given his connection to Rhule. (1/2)
Mims was turning heads early in training camp, and although he couldn't maintain that level, he's a big, physical receiver that would pair perfectly with DJ Moore and Robby Anderson, giving the Panthers another element to their outside weapons. Ultimately, it's not known what the Jets want for Mims, or what the Panthers have even offered, but the Jets are open to moving the former Baylor stud, and it's just a matter of time until he is traded to his second NFL team.
