Texans And Chiefs Complete Trade
The Houston Texans have traded Lonnie Johnson Jr. to the Kansas City Chiefs for a conditional 2024 seventh-round pick.
Johnson has spent the last three seasons with the Texans but had trouble cementing himself a permanent role with the team. He is coming off of an encouraging season, however, as he had three interceptions and 55 combined tackles in 14 games. With that, he started in seven of those contests.
Perhaps a change of scenery could help Johnson grow as a player. Joining a top-of-the-line team in the Chiefs certainly could be good for him, but time will tell on that front.
In 44 career games with the Texans, Johnson has 172 combined tackles and three interceptions.
