NFL Rumors: QB Nick Foles On The Move!
According to the Athletic's Zak Keefer, veteran quarterback Nick Foles is closing in on an agreement with the Indianapolis Colts. Expect to see pen to paper sometime early next week.
The Colts are in the market for some depth at QB as the team dealt Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders after Wentz' one season which apparently disappointed team ownership who deemed his acquisition as a mistake.
As for Foles, he knows the Colts staff well as he worked with head coach Frank Reich on the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2017 season. Reich was the team's offensive coordinator that season, when they went onto win Super Bowl LII.
The veteran QB is now 33 years old and will be the backup to Matt Ryan. He spent the last two seasons in the windy city with the Chicago Bears, although Foles only started once last season. In 2020 he played in nine games, raking up 1,852 yards, completing 64.7% of his passes and threw for 10 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions.
Foles is added to a Colts depth chart that includes starter Ryan, second-year passer Sam Ehlinger, James Morgan and undrafted rookie Jack Coan.
