NFL Rumors: Former Bears Running Back Suffers Devastating Injury
Roughly 2 months ago, the Chicago Bears released veteran running back Tarik Cohen to free agency after he missed the entire 2021 season.
We may have thought we knew what @TarikCohen was going through these last few years. We had no idea how bad it actually was.

This is a must-read piece. https://t.co/16nfUMDoC8
Drafted 119th overall in 2017 by the Bears, Cohen immediately began to contribute on both offense and special teams as a unique and talented role player. Through his first 3 seasons he accumulated just over 1000 rushing yards, 1500 receiving yards, and 985 return yards along with 15 total touchdowns. Cohen was also nominated to the 2018 Pro Bowl as a return specialist.
.@TarikCohen deserved ALL the love… in his few short years in Chi-Town he created some everlasting memories for us…

Unfortunately, Cohen has been hard-pressed to return to the field since then as he only appeared in 3 games during the 2020 season and lost the entirety of last year to a knee injury. In addition to this, on Tuesday Cohen apparently suffered another devastating setback in his attempt to return to the field.
Awful news for former Bears RB Tarik Cohen, who said in his Players Tribune first person account last week that he finally felt back to where he was physically pre-ACL tear. Just heartbreaking after Cohen revealed everything he’s gone thru recently. https://t.co/iTrWNywipx

Cohen, 26, reportedly suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during a training session that he was recording live on social media. During the incident, Cohen could be seen grabbing the back of his leg before falling to the floor after backpedaling. It truly is an upsetting circumstance for Cohen, after this setback it seems unlikely that he will return to the field during the 2022 season and it may be difficult to find a team after what will essentially be 3 years away from the game.
