NFL Rumors: Browns Won't Release Quarterback
According to Mary Kay Cabot, the Cleveland Browns have zero plans to release Baker Mayfield.
There have been rumblings that the Browns would do this if they couldn't find Mayfield a home via trade, but at this juncture, they are still not open to this possibility. Thus, teams in need of a quarterback and who are considering Mayfield will need to acquire him through trade.
Teams like the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks have been linked to Mayfield this offseason, so it will be intriguing to see if either acquires him. Unfortunately for them, they won't be able to get him through free agency, as it's become clear that the Browns will not lose Mayfield for nothing in return.
