Dree Brees Teases NFL Comeback
The retired superstar quarterback out of Austin, Texas, recently hinted that he may return to the NFL this season. Dree Brees retired after the 2020 season, in which he led his New Orleans Saints to the playoffs. They met Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round and fell by a score of 20-30. Brees was 43 years old at the time. He decided to call it quits and signed a broadcasting contract with NBC for the 2021 season. He provided color commentary and analysis on the channel's Sunday Night Football.
But that broadcasting contract was short lived. Brees recently announced that he will not be returning to NBC, which he says opens up his doors to endless possibilities. He Tweeted a humorous, yet baffling, comment a couple of days ago.
Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided. I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know

That Tweet could mean so many things. Will he take on a lesser role with NBC? Or will he take a year off to be with his family? And then he throws in the possibility of playing "football again." No doubt, he means in the NFL. There are teams that would lunge for the 13-time Pro-Bowler. The Seattle Seahawks are immediate candidates. Without Russell Wilson, they're in need of a solid number one quarterback.
