Saints Re-Sign Running Back

The New Orleans Saints have re-signed Dwayne Washington to a one-year contract.

Washington has spent each of the last four seasons as a member of the Saints. With them, he has primarily been a depth option, and the 2021 season did not change that. He made appearances in 14 games but did not start in any of them. With that, he had four rushes to go along with 16 rushing yards.

Washington has also worked well as a special teamer for the Saints, so that likely is a major reason why they have opted to bring him back. Although he is low on the team's depth chart, that is where he provides value to the franchise.

Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see what Washington provides for the Saints this upcoming campaign.
