NFL Rumors: NY Giants Closing In On Big Trade
The New York Giants are ready and willing to make some big changes and it sounds like the next shoe to drop will be wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
The former first-round pick hits the trade market in surprising fashion after the Giants drafted him just last season. Toney was not present at the Giants offseason program and questions begun to get raised about his future with the football team. Turns out according to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, a trade is on the way.
The wide out was selected 20th overall last year and the Florida product got his NFL started on the wrong foot, almost literally as he had to leave his first workout because his cleats were the wrong size. The rest of the 2021 season was not an ideal start as he injured his hamstring, ankle, thumb, quad, oblique, and shoulder.
The 23-year-old Toney was apparently not the ideal teammate as he frequently missed meetings and was critiqued for not knowing the playbook. The Giants appear set to move on from Toney as they look to improve on their 4-13 season. Expect to see a trade come to fruition around the NFL draft.
