Frank Gore Set To Retire
Longtime NFL running back Frank Gore has announced that he will be retiring from the NFL. Yet, he also noted that he first will be signing a one-day deal with the San Francisco 49ers before officially calling it a career.
Gore last played in the NFL during the 2020 season with the New York Jets. In 15 games with the team, he had two touchdowns, 187 rushes, and 653 yards.
Gore put together an extremely long career, as he began it during the 2005 season with the 49ers. In a whopping 241 career games between the 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Jets, he had 99 combined touchdowns and exactly 16,000 rushing yards. With these numbers, he has played the most games ever by a running back and is third all-time in rushing yards. He also appeared in five Pro Bowls and was a Second-team All-pro in 2006.
Overall, it was a fantastic career for Gore.
