Detroit Lions Sign Safety
The Detroit Lions have signed DeShon Elliott to a one-year contract. He can make a maximum salary of $3.65 million for the 2022 campaign.
Elliott spent each of his first three seasons in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens. The 24-year-old started in six games for the team this season, where he had 23 combined tackles, one interception, and 1.0 sacks. However, his season came to a close early after he suffered a torn pec and torn biceps in Week 9.
Now, Elliott will be aiming to get healthy for the 2022 season and be a force for the Lions. Before his injury, he was having himself a pretty solid season. It will be intriguing to see if he can carry that over to his new team from here.
Overall, with the Lions not expected to be contenders this year, it isn't a bad thing for them to take a chance on Elliott. Let's see how the youngster performs.
