Seahawks Release Longtime Linebacker
After trading Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks are parting ways with another longtime player. The team has informed Bobby Wagner that he will be released.
Wagner has been an immensely important part of the Seahawks' defense for nearly a decade. During his tenure with the organization, he was named a First-team All-Pro six times and participated in eight Pro Bowls. With that, he also played a notable role in their Super Bowl win.
In 151 career games with the Seahawks, Wagner had 1,383 combined tackles, 23.5 sacks, and four total touchdowns. Overall, it's clear that he had himself an excellent run with Seattle, but now he will be aiming to build on these stats elsewhere.
It is clear that the Seahawks are getting ready to completely rebuild their roster. With Wilson and Wagner gone, the team is set to have a brand new identity. It will be intriguing to watch all the moves they make from here.
