NFL Rumors: Teams Calling About Falcons Quarterback
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, teams have been calling about Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.
Although this happens to be the case, there also is a clear understanding that the Falcons are not open to moving Ryan. Although teams may continue to send offers Atlanta's way, it is extremely unlikely that they will be willing to part ways with the 37-year-old.
Earlier this offseason, it was announced by the Falcons that they are looking to find a successor for Ryan. However, they also noted that they will still run with Ryan as their starter in the meantime. They basically are aiming to have a plan for when the longtime QB officially calls it a career.
The 2021 season was another solid one for Ryan. In 17 starts, he had 20 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and 3,968 yards. Although he sported a 7-10 record, it's clear that he wasn't the primary reason for their losing record.
Nevertheless, as we head into next season, don't be surprised to see Ryan remain with the Falcons.
