NFL Rumors: Steelers Not Interested In This Star QB
There's no question that the Pittsburgh Steelers need to add a new quarterback to their roster due to the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger. However, one big-name QB who they reportedly have no interest in is Deshaun Watson.
Watson of course is dealing with some notable legal issues, so that is likely a major reason why the Steelers aren't considering him. Furthermore, even with this current situation, the Houston Texans are also asking a lot for him in any potential trade. Their asking price is multiple first-round picks and more.
Overall, all of this is probably why the Steelers are going to explore other options when it comes to Roethlisberger's replacement. The QB market has already gotten smaller, as Aaron Rodgers has committed to staying with the Packers, while Russell Wilson has been dealt to the Broncos. Furthermore, even Carson Wentz has found a new home with the Washington Commanders. Their options are beginning to shrink, so they may want to act quickly.
Alas, time will tell who is Pittsburgh's starter next season, but it won't be Watson.
