NFL Rumors: NFC Team Interested In Deshaun Watson
Although the Seattle Seahawks just traded away Russell Wilson, they already have their eyes on another elite quarterback - Deshaun Watson. Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reported that the team has expressed interest in the Houston Texans QB.
It certainly would be risky to acquire Watson at this time, however. The 26-year-old's availability for the 2022 campaign is hard to determine, as he currently is in the middle with a serious legal matter. The star QB will be appearing before a grand jury on Friday due to several sexual assault and sexual misconduct allegations made against him back in 2021.
Although Watson's situation comes with a lot of uncertainty, the Seahawks are still open to the idea of bringing in the quarterback. The Texans want three first-round picks and more in a potential swap, so it will be interesting to see if Seattle is willing to pay it.
In 54 career games with the Texans, Watson has thrown 104 touchdowns, 36 interceptions, and 14,539 yards. With that, he has been named to the Pro Bowl three times and led the league in passing yards during the 2020 season. There's no question that he is an immensely talented QB, but his current issues off the field also cannot be ignored. It will be interesting to see what happens from here.
