NFL Rumors: Jets Want To Re-Sign Quarterback
According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, the New York Jets want to re-sign veteran QB Joe, Flacco. With that, Flacco also wants to stay in New York.
Flacco was acquired by the Jets from the Philadelphia Eagles before the deadline. Following the move, he went on to appear in two games for the team and even started in one. Although he lost in his lone start for the team, he also threw three touchdowns, zero interceptions, and 338 passing yards. Therefore, he looked pretty decent in his role and could be a solid depth option for them moving forward.
Flacco's second stint with the Jets certainly was better than his first, so it makes sense that they want to keep this relationship going. Due to the fact thatthe he has an immense amount of NFL experience, he could be an excellent mentor for 2021 second-overall pick Zach Wilson to have.
Nevertheless, don't be surprised to see Flacco and the Jets agree to a new contract shortly.
