NFL Rumors: Giants Confident In Starting Quarterback

While speaking to reporters, New York Giants president John Mara expressed confidence in Daniel Jones remaining as their starting quarterback for the 2022 season.

This upcoming season is a massive one for Jones, as he is in the final year of his contract. If he puts together another rough campaign, it seems more likely than not that the team will elect to move on from him as their starting QB in 2023. However, as of right now, management is still hopeful that the 24-year-old can blossom into his potential.

The 2021 season wasn't a very strong one for Jones, however, as he threw 10 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and 2,428 yards. With that, he also sported a 4-7 record as their starter and completed 64.3% of his passes. Thus, nothing about his numbers was particularly strong, but he will now be aiming to have himself a career year in 2022.

We will have to wait and see if Jones can live up to Mara's expectations this campaign. If not, the Giants president may lose confidence in the youngster.
