NFL Rumors: 2 Teams Make Trade Offers for Deshaun Watson
The Houston Texans have received multiple trade offers for quarterback Deshaun Watson with the most recent two offers coming from the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers. The trade talk was first reported by Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL network.
Now the fun begins for the Saints and Panthers as Watson holds a full no-trade clause and will now hold meetings with the teams to get a sense of a number of things including what other moves the team is considering and their offensive sets.
Recently the news of Watson not being criminally charged has created more interest in the quarterback on the trade market. The Saints and Panthers are the two teams that have stepped up the most, while the Miami Dolphins have taken themselves out of the sweepstakes.
The #Texans are expected to grant permission for interested clubs to speak to Deshaun Watson, so this could ramp up quickly. The price hasn’t changed – three first-round picks and more – and multiple teams are willing to pay it. https://t.co/1LJ5NLva9R

Watson is still only 26 years old and a three-time Pro Bowler who put up massive numbers in 2020. He sat out all of last season as basically a healthy scratch while all the legal business got sorted. He's had a fallen out with Texans ownership and upper management and a trade is now coming to fruition.
At this point the Saints appear to be the front runners as Drew Brees has retired, Jameis Winston hitting the open market and question marks remain with Taysom Hill being a QB1. Look for New Orleans to try and blow Watson's socks off in their meeting next week.
