Eagles Sign Star Center To New Contract
There were plenty of rumblings that Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce was planning to retire this offseason. However, he not only stated that he will continue playing in 2022 but also has now signed a one-year $14 million deal with the team.
With this new contract, Kelce is the highest-paid center in the entire league, and it is entirely understandable. The 34-year-old just had himself another very good season and was named a first-team All-Pro for the fourth time in his career. With that, he also appeared in his fifth Pro Bowl.
The Eagles finished the 2021 season with a 9-8 record and were second in the NFC East. It was a decent campaign for the team, but they are now looking to take that next step again from here. Keeping a veteran like Kelce around should only help with that.
