Tom Brady Officially Announces Retirement
Tom Brady ended the speculation on whether or not he will be returning for a 23rd NFL season when he announced his retirement early Tuesday morning via Instagram. The 44-year-old retires as the NFL's all-time leader in completions, yards, and touchdowns, and is a record 7-time Super Bowl Champion.
Here is the official post from Brady (scroll right):
One of the greatest careers, not just in football, but in professional sports has come to an end.
Tom Brady will go down in history as the greatest quarterback in the history of football and one of the greatest winners in the history of sports. Barbershop debates typically boil down to "how many rings?" and nobody has more than the 5x Super Bowl MVP (that's also a record, by the way). Brady can walk away with his head held high and his legacy intact, and the surefire first-ballot Hall-of-Famer can finally enjoy retirement after one of the longest - and most decorated careers of all time.
