NFL Rumors: Panthers And Jets Could Complete Trade
There have been rumblings that the Carolina Panthers are open to trading wide receiver Robby Anderson this offseason. According to DJ Bien-Aime II of the New York Daily News, the 28-year-old would prefer to be traded back to the New York Jets.
Bien-Aime II also noted that Anderson has "unfinished business" with the organization. He of course played his first four seasons in the NFL with the Jets, where he had 20 touchdowns, 207 receptions, and 3,059 receiving yards. He had a pretty strong tenure there, and now would be a good time for him to spark a reunion with them.
In 17 games this season with the Panthers, Anderson had five touchdowns, 519 receiving yards, and 53 receptions. Overall, he would make for a decent option for a team looking to improve at the wide receiver position - whether it's the Jets or elsewhere.
After finishing the season with a 5-12 record, it does make sense for the Panthers to make some changes to their current roster. If they do shop Anderson, it will be intriguing to see if they keep his preferred destination in mind.
