Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sign Veteran RB
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to add talent to their roster as they have taken a chance on veteran running back Le'Veon Bell.
Bell, most recently with the Baltimore Ravens hasn't found a home of late as he's bounced around in recent seasons. The Bucs are bringing him in after Leonard Fournette was injured with a hamstring injury that appears to be putting him on the shelve for the rest of the regular season. Fournette is expected to be ready for the playoff run but Bell will help the Bucs until then.
So far this season Bell has played in five games for the Ravens. He managed to record 31 carries and 83 yards to go along with two scores. Certainly a huge fall off from his time as a dominant back with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As for the Bucs, they recently suffered a brutal 9-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints, which is when Fournette and wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin also went down with injuries. Evans is expected to miss a week or so, meanwhile Godwin is done until late 2022.
For now, expect to see Ronald Jones lead the team in carries with Bell playing second fiddle. Bucs QB Tom Brady is expected to lean heavy on Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski these final couple of weeks. Maybe Bell will impress the veteran slinger to give him a chance to produce more than what we've seen in Baltimore.
