Buccaneers Lose Linebacker For Rest Of Regular Season
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without linebacker Shaquil Barrett for the remainder of the regular season. The 29-year-old is currently dealing with a sprained MCL and ACL, according to head coach Bruce Arians. On the bright side, though, there's a good chance that he will be ready for the postseason.
Although losing Barrett for the rest of the regular season stings, the Buccaneers are already in a good place. At this time, they have an 11-4 record and have won the NFC South, so they are automatically in the playoffs. However, they also are aiming to be the NFC's number one seed, so not having Barrett around hurts.
Barrett had himself another fantastic season this year, as he recorded an impressive 10 sacks to go along with an interception. With that, he was named to his second career Pro Bowl because of his excellent play. He's been a big reason for the Buccaneers' success due to all of this.
Here's to hoping that Barrett recovers properly from here and will be able to participate in Tampa Bay's playoff run. With how well they've been playing this campaign, they surely could go on another long one.
