Minnesota Vikings Receive Brutal News Regarding Dalvin Cook
To say Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is banged up would be an understatement. The superstar back has tore his labrum and dislocated his shoulder during the Vikes recent matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
At this point the team is remaining very optimistic that Cook won't be done for the season and will make a return to the football field at some point. How long he's out is a good question, but the Vikings are hopeful it will only be a few weeks.
The 26-year-old has gone through this all before as he suffered a very similar injury back in 2019 and missed the last two games of the season but did manage to suit up for the playoffs.
It was a brutal scene this past Sunday as Cook was carted off during the third quarter and immediately went into the locker room for imaging. Turns out the two-time Pro Bowler has suffered pretty serious damage to his shoulder after being a productive piece in Minny. So far in 2021, Cook has ran for 773 yards and four touchdowns.
Look for the Vikes to hand off RB1 options to Alexander Mattison, so if he's available on the fantasy wire pick him up. So far Mattison has tallied 464 yards from scrimmage and two scores in 2021. Minnesota takes on the Detroit Lions on Sunday before facing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14.
Vikings and 49ers players surrounded Dalvin Cook before he was carted off the field 🙏
