2 Big Name Players Done for the Season
The NFL can take a toll on player's bodies and it seems like this season the injuries have just piled up across the league. The latest victims to fall to season-ending injuries include Khalil Mack of the Chicago Bears and Chris Carson of the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks announced on Friday that Carson was undergoing neck surgery that was going to keep him off the football field until next season. The 27-year-old has scored three times in 2021, while rushing for 232 yards. The back has rushed at a great clip of 4.3 yards-per-carry this season.
There was some hope Carson would return to the lineup this season after falling on the IR earlier on, but as we see now that's not the case at all. Look for the likes of Alex Collins and Rashaad Penny to carry the lead for the Seahawks moving forward.
As for Mack, he underwent foot surgery that sidelines him for the season. The Bears linebacker was placed on the injured reserve on Friday and is expected to be ready for training camp next season.
Mack hasn't played in a couple of weeks and the Bears were also hopeful of a potential return in 2021. Mack suffered the injury back in Week 3 and was playing through the pain through four games. He finishes the campaign with six sacks and 19 total tackles.
We wish both players a speed recovery.
