Trade: Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles Complete a Deal
The Arizona Cardinals added to their potent offense as the team acquired tight-end Zach Ertz from the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. The three-time Pro Bowler went to the desert in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick and cornerback Tay Gowan.
“These people love their team. They love the Eagles. This city loves their players. They want to see us succeed as much or more than we want to succeed. That’s why I love this place”

Ertz knew he was getting dealt before Thursday's game and was seen in tears after it concluded as he walked back to the locker room. Certainly a risky move playing a player who was getting dealt moments later.
Ertz is seeking a new contract and will engage with the Cardinals upon arrival. Look for the tight end to get a ton of reps in 'Zona as he's likely going to be a huge part of their offensive schemes. The two sides have been on each other's radar for several months now and it seemed like a deal to the Cardinals was inevitable.
It's been a flip flop for Ertz and his relationship with the Eagles. During the offseason he asked for a trade and then before the season started he said he was fine to stay. Ertz now has been shipped out of town and will make his Cardinals' debut during Week 7.
