Video: Tom Brady Comments on Return to New England
Week 4 of the NFL season is upon us. So far the season has been as entertaining as any other and it's just getting started. This week we will see Tom Brady lead his Tampa Bay Buccaneers into New England to take on the Patriots. The homecoming he always wanted? Not so fast, Brady is expecting chaos and a lot of hate.
The veteran decorated quarterback recently recorded a podcast episode with Jim Gray and had this to say about heading back "home":
I wouldn't expect a homecoming. I think they're there to root for their team, and their team is the Patriots. And I think if they know anything about me, they're going to know that I'm going out there to try to win the football game. So I think they'll respect that about me. I certainly respect that they're there to pull for their team and that's the way sports goes. After the game comes and goes, things will happen as they will. I'm not sure how things unfold - other than how I want them to unfold, which is us to go play a great game of football and try to get a really tough win in a really great football environment. One thing I learned from the Patriots, Belichick would say, 'Listen, if you love football, then 8:30 on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium is the place to be.' So I'll be there. My teammates will be there. We'll be ready and prepared. It's going to be a great night of football.
The Belichick vs Brady matchup this week will be entertaining to say the least. Expect to see either one of the best games of the season, or potentially a massive blow out for the Bucs. Regardless, it's going to look awfully weird seeing Brady come out of the tunnel at Foxboro without a Patriots jersey on.
This Sunday, Tom Brady goes back to New England for the most anticipated game of the regular season. And as he tells me in a sit-down interview that will air this Sunday on Sunday NFL Countdown, he's ready for everything. Literally... everything. An excerpt: pic.twitter.com/DiLxRqaAWj
